a few days ago, shumin called me up and asked me
when i free to go for dinner. we settled on friday.
Place wise i decided so decided to go to 'Aiwo' (means love me)
since i ve heard and seen several stuff abt it on magazines etc
well i heard it was a really healthy restaurant.
but in the end it was so healthy that e dishes were a little too exotic and bland..
we took some pictures of the food!
overall: food not v nice but umbience and concept ++.. :)

we went for the conveyor belt feast. it came with this 4-dish thing and soup of the day: Zuchini smth which tasted nt v nice ha. From top left to right: vegetable salad (came dry w no mayonnaise etc), chicken & prawn. Bottom left to right: barley seeds w green curry rolled into ball(this tasted hm.. v v weird), tomato salsa.
this one was cajun chicken with yoghurt dip (not bad la)
Fish-wrap parcel. wow. it sounded so enticing. but wait till u bite into it. wrapped in this banana leaf, open up u see the fish heavily smeared with spices and smells strongly of PARSLEY. i took the 1st bite and it was a no-no straight. put the lid back and shoved it aside. well if ur someone who likes parsley then mayb u ll like it :)
Stir-fry fish with snow peas and carrot. this one's q nice also just that its way too bland for a fish dish, well yeah healthy they call it. ha. All tgtr we took 3 plates of this. i took 2. Sm 1.
spicy mushrooms! served pretty well as an appetizer, really whets ur appetite
Chicken with Garlic (nice.. well actually all the chicken were the nicer plates)
conveyor belt. whats interesting is that it wasnt those kinda japanese sushi buffet but small dainty dishes shown above that was on it instead of sushi plates. The buffet wasnt cheap, it was 17.60! wasted la..haha
The umbience was pretty good. Place was dim-lit throughout so it was kinda romantic (what a pity la me and shumin not couples haha). They had these lighted candles placed along the tables and the conveyor belt.
Shumin me. had a hard time taking the self-shot photo coz if it wasnt centred, it was too near etc haha. For once i think i looked darker than shumin! or if not, same colour yeah! ok la maybe it was the lighting there :(
We were quite surprised when we got there coz we had no utensils. Then one of the waitresses saw our bizarre looks, came over and very politely point at a very discrete drawer hidden along the table which was facing the conveyor belt. "Your utensils, ma'am" Right.
Anyway, after dinner, we thought of treating ourselves
to something more sinful
since our dinner was such a well disappointment i should say
ha it was healthy in the sense that
yeah stuff were not deep fried, no high cholesterol stuff
but its just the food that we ate
it wasnt food that cld give us that
wow-im-gonna-sit-back-and-relax-in-my-chair-now-coz-i-had-a-great-dinner feel.. haha.
So in the end it was Shumin who decided where to go next
Ben & Jerry's. here we come!
went for Mix N Match. choose 3 flavours of ice-cream w topping ranging from: hot choc fudge to some rainbow sprinklees or somthing. Dublin Mudslide(this one ll knock u off ur feet!), choc chip dough cookie(not bad too, think u all may hv tried it), strawberry n hot choc fudge. it was heavenly, we were totally drunk in it. Only rmbering to take a pic of it when it was already in a pretty messy state
shumin holding it up. we couldnt find a place to sit down at Ben & Jerry's so we had to stand and eat at one of the public phone booths, ha. yeah. Then it was Home Sweet Home.. zZ.
Well at least we enjoyed the dessert part..haha

but it's gonna be pushed back to march
coz the guys can book out by then or smth, not too sure.
Place is up to us to decide hah!
